  1. Housing Prices in Hong Kong are far more inflated than Ireland

Also with their draconian national security law recently imposed on hk by the Chinese dictatorship it is venting people and is a shadow of its former self – hk is now just another digital prison with a few more websites still accessible vs mainland

I’m just home from HK and yes it does have its problems but we could learn a lot by building up instead of out with apartments (most of theirs are 40 stories and that’s in regular towns and villages, not just HK or Kowloon CBD). Public transport is insanely good too. I felt a lot safer there than I do in our own capital. And I had full access to twitter Facebook insta etc all whilst using a HK sim card so 🤷

  3. TUD is the same person that put up the poster about Rtes best presenter being Dustin, “the rest are just muppets”.

  4. I loved HK, but left before the mainland implemented further security laws. For what its worth the pod I was in was $500 and I would take that over the options being given in Dublin right now. A 16 bed dorm room here just doesn’t cut a pod with a flip down screen, wifi and 2 sockets to charge things. Dublin is a dump when it comes to renting.

  5. I was in Hong Kong a few years ago and it was a fairly surreal experience. I stayed in a room in a tower block that was like something from Judge Dredd: thousands of people living in one building and the bottom floor was a bazaar. The room itself was spotlessly clean but tiny and windowless. Then again, I stayed in a hotel around the exact same size for even more money in Dublin a couple of years ago so there’s that.

  6. Aww lads I’m actually so sad. All my friends are moving to Canada and Australia and they’re all sending pics of their two bed apartments with communal pools, gyms and roof top bars. Me and my boyfriend are just in my childhood bedroom. Super depressing times rn.
