Sveiki! I really love the Latvian song “Tu Un Es” by Igo and Ieva Akuratere and I’d like to know the lyrics since I couldn’t find it on Google.

  1. The youtube link you provided very clearly says that the author of the lyrics is Linards Tauns. 1 Google search provided this link – [https://dom.lndb.lv/data/obj/file/17503977.pdf](https://dom.lndb.lv/data/obj/file/17503977.pdf) . Go to the poem corresponding with the name of the song. If you’re even lazier, it’s page 60 in the book ( 66 in the pdf).

  2. A direct content translation:

    Hey hey.

    Brothers and sisters

    Come together

The time of life is now.

Never ever should you lose your hope

This is the time when people wil become lords and kings

This is the time when everybody will wear golden rings

What will you give, is you purse full of gold?

Give your gold to me in this cosmic dance

And forget your roots with me

We need no drugs, no exstasy

    We only need good drinks

    ….
And it goes on in a similar manner with minor changes

  3. As somene said it’s a poem from book
    https://gramatas.lndb.lv/periodika2-viewer/?lang=fr#issue:694623 translaying that

    TU UN ES

    Tu atgulsties smilgās un zālēs

    Zem sērmūkšļa zariem, zem vēja,

    Es iestumju laivu kalmēs

    Zem negaisa mākoņa spēja.

    Caur drebošiem zariem tu vēro,

    Kā lietavās debess raud visa,

    Dzeru negaisu, aizmirsdams sērot

    Par sauli, kas dienvidā dzisa.

    Tu mīli vējus un zāli

    Un kaltuša siena smaržu,

    Es negaisā tumsušu tāli,

    Jūras ūdeņu sāļo garšu.

    Tava dvēsle zuz vēja pūtā,

    Gaist dienvida mākonī žiglā,

    Šalc mana viļņu nopūtā grūtā,

    Ar veļiem klīst dievaiņu miglā.

    Tu atgulsties smilgās un zālēs.

    Krīt sērmūkšas drānās un matos.

Prom negaiss. Mirdz viļņi. Viz kalmes.

    Es nerimis tevī skatos

    You and I

    You lie down in grass

    Under rowan branches, under wind

I push the boat into sweet flags

    Under a mighty thunder cloud.

You watch me trough trembling branches,

How the whole sky cries in rain,

I drink the storm, forgeting to mourn

The sun that went out in the midday.

    You loved winds and grass

And the smell of dry hay

I – the horizon darkened by the storm

    Salty taste of sea water.

Your soul buzzes in the wind blast,

Disappears in a fast southern cloud,

Mine rustles in deep sigh of the waves,

With ghosts it wanders in fog of the gods.

    You lie down in grass.

The rowans fall in clothes and hair.

    Tu atgulsties smilgās un zālēs.

The storm is gone. Waves shine. The sweet flags glisten.

I watch you without stopping/calming down.
