Hello, I need to send money from overseas to finland.

the recipient informed me that
“The name of the bank: OP Corporate Bank PLC / Oulun Osuuspankki / OP Oulu”,
“The address of the bank: Isokatu 14, 90100 OULU”,
“SWIFT code: BIC:OKOYFIHH” .

But when I searched for the SWIFT code(OKOYFIHH) on my internet banking, there are 3 options.

what should I choose among these? OKOYFIHHXXX?

thanks in advance.

  1. You should provide the sending bank with two things. The first is the BIC (Bank Identifier Code, sometimes referred to as the Business Identifier Code) which is essentially the swift code (without the XXX at the end) which identifies the institution to receive the payment from your bank. Secondly you need to provide the IBAN (International Bank Account Number) which every account in Finland has. It contains all the routing information for the destination bank to get the money to the right account in the right town. The receiver should be able to tell you the BIC and the IBAN because these are shown on every bank statement. If your bank insists on a swift code you should change your bank. The BIC and IBAN are all that is needed.
