Putin (& the Donetsk commander that fired the Russian-supplied Buk missile) belong in The Hague for this
Without a feasible way of enforcement this is just hot air.
>Hey guys lets fly our civilian airliner over a hot conflict zone with active AA and over which several aircrafts were shot down in the weeks prior, what could go wrong?
Same energy as going sailing along the coast of Somalia, going hitchiking in the minefields of Lebanon, or going sightseeing in Rio’s favelas tbh.
Ruskis have a track record of shooting down airliners encroaching in their area of control going back decades, and I’m definitely not convinced this isn’t more than their usual piss-poor C&C and procedures for target ID at play rather than any willingness to create an international incident of that nature, but the real question to me is who the fuck approved this flight plan?
