Electricity prices for household consumers, second half 2022

  1. To those wondering I can confirm Danish electricity providers showed record earnings for 2022.

Not just double or trible but for some 8 times the profit of 2021, (which was also record earnings for some of the electricity providers/suppliers).

Edit: An article popped up on the Danish Broadcasting website claiming Energi providers in Denmark raked in a net profit of 20 billion kroner in 2022. It further claims that Danish companies lost an estimated 19 billion kroner in competiveness with foreign companies due to other nations giving subsidies to businesses for increased electricity costs.
That sounds pretty fucked up. Why not legislate those greedy electricity providers to force them to lower their prices to market value?
There was also a record tax revenue surplus in Denmark. Partially because of the extra taxes on energy. In Denmark you get double screwed. Once by the electricity provider, and once by the government taxing those inflated electricity costs.

  2. Household electricity consumption per person in U.S is multiple times higher than most European countries due to cheap electricity price.

  3. There was not VAT in second half of year in Poland, so it seems not correct. Also in Spain, at least in Barcelona, lowest for now to connect I can easily find smth around 17-20 cents. Rest of Spain should be much higher or it’s again incorrect data

  4. What do the pink bars to the bottom mean? In Greece and the Netherlands you receive taxes, instead of paying them? Is it like subsidies?

  5. Wow, I how no idea it was that high. I was shocked when my new rates were $.12 / kwh for 100% renewables in Texas. I hope the governments figure out their energy strategies.

  6. This doesn’t say a lot when it’s not actually including everything when it comes to your electric bill.
