Yesterday evening the wonderful Novigrad fortress on the Danube was opened after a reconstruction funded by the EU and Serbia

  1. The fortress is commonly known in Serbia and elsewhere as Fetislam, but I didn’t use it the title of the post since any mention of “islam” sadly makes the post wait for manual mod approval.

This is an Ottoman era fort and the Turkish garrison stayed there up until 1867, when Fetislam was handed over to the Serbian prince Mihajlo Obrenović along with six other cities.

  2. Novigrad?

“Got their asses whipped like a Novigrad’s whore!”
“You surprised? They’ve tried to dance with a Witcher!”

  3. Looks nice. I wonder if Golubac has a chance too. I love the place, and it was sad to see the trucks’ traffic killing it.
