EU warns Twitter over spreading disinformation

  1. Every company’s performance is a reflection of their leadership. musk is not a leader, just a spoiled brat with daddy’s cheque book.

  2. You need to be careful when a government steps in to ‘combat disinformation’. A friendly reminder that Russian and Chinese governments do this too.

  3. EU keeps warning twitter, but in all honesty, warnings don’t work with that meatbag so EU should know better.

  4. Just waiting for a wave of redditors to cry about “Eu iS wORsE thAN ChINa aNd RusSIa, ceNSOrshIP” (which is ironically a russian propaganda talking point on social media)

  5. > tracks the spread of propaganda by authoritarian regimes

    > At the time of writing Twitter users trying to access the two prohibited channels from inside the European Economic Area or the U.K. (which also imposed limits) are met with a notification that the account is “withheld” across 28 countries.

It’s really cool and different when the west decides to censor content to “combat disinformation” though

  6. Why are people cheering this on? Disinformation is such a vague term. Will the EU start regulating what can be said on YouTube next? Will it be up to YouTube to remove all content that the EU deems “disinformation”?

  7. hahahahahah they still pissed off about losing Twitter to Musky-man that is obviously more competent about hiding censorship then them.

  8. I always find the comments on these Twitter articles hilarious. Regardless what you think of Musk, you have to respect him. He spent 40 billion on the lefts favourite dissemination tool which now we all know came under the thumb of the various US alphabet agencies (among others) He took a big risk, exposing this and the damage he’s done is clearly evident from the personal attacks on him and Twitter from various governments now they’ve lost control.

  9. Was just reading some stuff on Twitter, and the bots are so obvious, and so many it’s actually infuriating to see how flooded it has become, especially as some media use Twitter as public opinion.

  10. Misinformation = false information

Disinformation = narrative that does not comply with government retorics, or what THEY believe is in the best interest of everyone, or most of us.

I think.. that disinformation should be allowed, because science is always about one, questioning the other, testing the theories, and redo research to duplicate or come to different conclusions.

This whole Disinformationg thing.. used to be something only China and North Korea did.

  11. Social media is a cess pot of misinformation and disinformation.

Reddit is one of them, just talk about any cold war (or after) topic, and you’ll see.

  12. I hope they’re going to give the same warning to mainstream media as well, its been going on for years & getting worse.

  13. EU amongs other governments should finally do, it is awful in recent years, half of the idiots who had covid 3x dont even believe in it, then Russian war on Ukraine.. time to act has come..before it is too late.

  14. Eu is warning because they want that missinformation labeled as i formation but still twitter becaming some sort of strange social buble network
