The church bells you can at least get used to. The constant construction sounds turn you into a mental nutcase though
Construction next to me starts promptly at 7:00… Monday to Saturday. And on Sunday when I hope to sleep a bit, I have neighbours above me with loud music and screaming on their balcony at 3-4 in the morning (oh, that happens other days too).
Most work all week Mon to Fri and the only days to do something at home which is needed will be on Sat and Sun. It is very unfortunate and we have to live with it, however there are some few things that we could all do to reduce the noise….. including my lovely neighbours downstairs.

I am on holiday and the building next to my hotel was almost finished when I came a year ago. It’s still almost finished, and they work on it all day. All praise to St Bob the Builder

There are no garbage bins in Malta, all garbage is lying on the streets in bags and its not picked up in the morning.
This is why I don’t do shift hours anymore, might not get easy parking but at least I can sleep at night.

The neighbours’, so it comes in through the windows, walls, floors at all hours of the day and night.. and music in cars with open windows blaring away whilst driving down the street, or sitting waiting for something.. honking the horn to call out your friend from their house…
