  1. To get this straight: the UK police can arrest somebody if the passcode for a telephone isn’t given?

    Isn’t that a form of self-incrimination?

    The Dutch Supreme Court does consider it a form of self incrimination to demand a suspect to reveal a passcode, but not if the suspect is forced to place a finger on the finger print scanner of a phone:

  2. Why isnt this being discussed more? The police can use vague terrorism laws to detain a friendly countries people because they may oppose the people in power?

    What an awful slippery slope of bullshit.

    If they can do it to foreign nationals they sure as shit wont have a problem doing it to you.

    You dont like the PM, straight to the gulag with you.

    If the government has some inforation that may indicate this was a reasonable act they better get it out soon.

    This is potentially actual fascism.
