Hi,
we are planning a 2-week-summer vacation in south Denmark at the Nordsee. We found several nice houses and several of them are in Houstrup. When looking closer I noticed that all of those houses are in a building are. Does someone know what’s the status of that area and maybe has some details or pictures?

Thanks a lot!

Call them and ask?
From what im able to find, and with my own knowledge of the area, it looks like it’s mainly vacationhomes.
That area isnt dense populated. Nymindegab, Henne and Nørre Nebel are populated.
Seems like a newly built summer house area. The google maps image is with copyright from 2023 so probably there is some remnants from the construction. But then again the houses are brand new I guess.
Looks like a skanlux development, so they probably close to being finished.
There’s a couple of houses planned for construction, but otherwise most of them are 3-4 years old. Not much privacy. Since vegetation/bushes around the plots are still very new.
All houses in the “Solvang” are marketed as “luxurious” and almost all of them have indoor pools. AFAIK the building rights is owned by SkanLux (Rented through VillaVilla.dk)
The house you are looking at is one of the larger ones, and we could easily spend a week there without leaving the house, because of the pool and activity room. There’s something for all ages, and the separated living quarters makes it possible to retire early without being disturbed by people staying up.
Do note that the bedrooms are very compact, so don’t expect to be able to fit anything in there except what fits in the small closets.
I don’t have any pictures to share, but we could easily see what people were doing in the neighbouring houses, if we looked out the window. Houstrup is primarily holiday homes so it’s very quiet, you’ll at most notice your neighbours.
If you browse through the listing for Houstrup of these luxurious houses you’ll get a good picture of the building site.
You are an hour’s walk away from the sea. Nørre Nebel (5-10 minutes drive) has plenty of options for grocery shopping, and Henne is a nice “turisty” town near the sea.
Sea West, indoor activity and waterpark is just outside the area. Otherwise you’ve got plenty of nice options for beaches along the west coast within a short drive.
Within an hour’s drive you’ve got plenty of activities ranging from nature sites, museums to Legoland/Lego House. But if it’s raining the houses are very accomodating for entertainment.
Most of the German turists there brought Bikes, which I would recommend, if you do not want to be bound by car to get to the beach. The area should be great for some light mountain biking and hiking.
TLDR:
Locally very new area, with empty plots awaiting construction. Houstrup is primarily holiday homes.
Beaches on foot is an hour away, but the region offers plenty of activities.
If the weather or mood is not up for adventures, the house has everything you need to have a great time.
Consider bikes, since it seems to be a popular thing.
