He is taking 4 places just because…

  1. Why would anyone need a car like that? If it’s for work a van will fit much more. Even ‘regular’ pickup trucks have more space. If it’s for private use I’m even more confused… And all that in a time where fossil fuels are getting more and more expensive.

  2. I used to own a Yukon XL, similar in size to a Ram. I could always park it in between the lines at the grocery stores. And if the parking lot was busy, I’d park it on the edge of the parking lot and walked a little further. It’s not that they can’t, it’s just that they don’t want to and/or are too lazy.

  3. When are they going to tax these shit “cars” to hell? The reason these pop up more and more is because people are still able to afford them, which (unless for professional reasons) is utter bullshit in Belgium

  4. Because most of the pick up driver are not “Het scherpste potlood uit de doos” Especially the ones with the “Blood sweat and bears” stickers. Like the show tho.

  5. Those monstruous cars have been multiplying in Brussels. They’re systematically driven by the type of people you’d expect.

Here, the guy could have parked properly if he wasn’t a jerk but in many places, those vehicles are simply too big to fit and inevitably block the sidewalks, the bike lane or both.

I don’t understand how you can’t drive older vehicles in Brussels but those goddamn things somehow are fine. Who do I vote for to get those things out of the city?

  6. I got a great song for this, the refrain perfectly conveys what I’m thinking about this person (sincerely with love by Lordi)

  7. Okay so about belgian road antics…I live in New york. Today in Landen I witnessed someone turn left in front of another car when they shouldn’t have. The “victim” proceeded to stop in his lane, blocking traffic from his direction with a bus and about 10 cars behind him, to go confront the other driver who had pulled over in the other lane for some reason.

We were in a perpendicular lane waiting to turn left but couldn’t because both lanes (all 3 directions at this point, really) were blocked due to this asshattery.

I’ve never seen anything like this.

    Just belgium things?

  8. Oooh one I, a Canadian from cowboy land can answer

The truck is too long to fit in the space for a compact car and will stop others from backing out or moving.

It’s also too wide to open a door without bumping another car. Those doors are heavy and if a kid opens it in the wind, the car next to you is dented for sure.

We noticed these things about parking in Belgium… Like you’d have to really like a truck to drive one in Europe
