  1. On the 14th of May, 2023, Turkey will hold a presidential and parliamentary election. If no candidate can get over %50 of the vote, a second election will be held two weeks later.

Some polls to give a general perspective of the possible outcome:

  2. Apparently, Kemal wants to “liberate” the Aegean islands from Greece. And I thought the Greeks would catch a break after Erdogan.

  3. Irrelevant to the post, but why do people insist on using Turkiye instead of Turkey?

It’s like saying Deutschland instead of Germany, it doesn’t make any sense for English.

  4. The roundel symbols make them look like factions in Rome Total War.

    Turkey: Total Parliamentary War.

    Nice graphics though.

  5. HDP is affiliated with the PKK. This is common knowledge. Since the other acknowledged terrorist groups’ affilations has been stated, it should have been on the list.

  6. The party associated with the “Kurdish Hezbollah” that has Kurdish nationalism as position supports Erdogan? The guy who fights a war to make sure there’s no free Kurdistan? What did I miss?

  7. I think HDP its the only party who cares about the genocide 1915. I havent see the rest of the parties talk about it.

  8. Not from Turkey nor do I have family from there. How do Turks generally feel about Kemal and Erdogan? From my American perspective, Kemal seems more appealing, but I know very little of either candidate outside of headlines.

  9. Are there really enough political/ideological positions to hold, that warrant 28 different political parties?

No wonder turkish democracy is a mess.

  10. Please, can someone explain to me why kurdish Hüda-Par is supporting Erdogan? I mean, I thought Erdogan is understandably a huge no-no for all Kurds.

  11. Rooting for Kemal, even more so now that I know he has the *HEARTS* and **Dolphiiins** on his side.
