there are hundres of villages all along of the danube that look like this 🙂
We’re gonna see a lot more of that in the future
There is something about wooden houses like those that I really like, especially if they are located in the middle of an forest or nature in general.
Interesting, are these types of houses expensive?
Tat first one is basically my dream house
Shouldn’t they also have boats or are the floods very temporary?
Why you want to build a house in often flooded areas in first place?
Reminds me of the neolithic lake dwellings of switzerland.
What wasted opportunity to make your very own hut with chicken legs…
Nice. This is exactly how I’ve considered doing my next house. Structural concrete core with staircase somewhere in the middle, so that I can still park two cars under the house. Pillars supporting the outer edges. This would minimize the footprint for the house + cars. Can’t park outside, unless I want to dig the car every second morning from a pile of snow during winter.
Lifting your house up from the ground minimizes the moisture stress to the structures and repars/modifications are much easier to do, when you can access the building from below.
I love the look of these
Why would you live there?
People have built on stilts for at least 7000 years. Why does this seem like a new concept?

You can see the same in Hungary along the Danube
Need more pictures when it’s flooded.
Where do they park their cars?
Here in South Louisiana, US we just call these camps ..although I must say yours are prettier
I wonder how they get out when it’s flooded. I guess they have to own a boat as well?
What about toilet? I can’t see any pipes.
Many of the photos I used are from houses quite near Belgrade, many from the Ada Međica island, just a couple of km upstream from downtown Belgrade:

It must look wonderful when it does get flooded.
