Graham Linehan has been banned from Twitter….: Again. This time for lovingly joking about killing people who disagree with him

  1. Twitter is all over the place this weekend. The ticks, the government sponsored post links disappearing. Now Linehans actually been banned? Thats a big one considering all the stuff hes said on it for many years.

  2. He’s on Twitter atm so must have been a short-term ban. He’s a weird case. Whatever you think or fall on the trans debate. Actually trying to engage on the topic online is pointless, he’s just feeding trolls and has probably become one himself. I just find him fascinating because he had a solid career, family and it all seems (from his own words) to have gone to shit because of this. Like an addiction almost. I have a friend in a similar boat, who kind of tanked a decent songwriting career with pro-trump/mild right wing stuff on fb over the pandemic. I work in music and it’s gone from people asking me about him for work to people asking me is he okay. Mad.

  3. I wonder what happens to him when he gets banned from twitter. Is he just standing around staring off into the distance like the Narcos waiting meme?

  4. What happened to everyone leaving Twitter? Load of people said they were gonna stop using it because of Elon. Seems to be doing fine.

  5. Linehan was my uncle’s best man (and best friend) and was also friends with my parents (they are all in their 60s now) my uncle stopped being friends with Linehan in 2001 as he had a cocaine addiction. The friendship wad rekindled years later, but my uncle noticed whenever he went for a pint with him he just talked about the trans thing 80% of the time and he got sick of it and stopped being friends with him again.

He kept spinning and spinning down the anti trans rabbit hole until eventually both his own wife and kids became estranged from him and his work dried up. He is mortifyingly insane across social media. He was so loved in Ireland due to his popular show Father Ted and had two generations of adoring fans. He has thrown his whole life, career and family away for the sake of his transphobia.

Jk Rowling is going down the exact same road, terrible to see. If anything, she’s worse than him.

  6. I think Glinner’s case is a fantastic example of culture wars brain rot.

I remember someone did an analysis and he had been tweeting about trans shite on average 3 times an hour for the entirety of Christmas day one year. And this was before his family upped and left him.

We all know someone like him. Who doesn’t quite get social cues and know when to drop a topic. He wrote an article a few years ago detailing the bullying he received in his youth at the hands of a French exchange student and it was very telling.

The man is obviously unhinged and of all the places to be terminally online, picks twitter?

Genuinely morbidly fascinated by him. Even if the whole topic is mildly esoteric.
