Worden alleenstaanden écht fiscaal gediscrimineerd? Of lijkt dat alleen maar zo? Enkele feiten op een rij

  1. To be frank, yes, it’s more taxing to be a single without children but I do realize that kids cost a shit load of money to maintain, not only in cash but also in terms of time spent. You can’t put a kid on pause – aside from dumping them with a babysitter (costs money) or family if they are willing to take care of them.

    Instead of children -which I never wanted- I poured my energy in a side profession and this helps me lower my taxes a bit, while spending my time on a project whenever I feel like it and actually adds some revenue to my total income. I can do whatever and whenever I want, I can buy just about anything without too much wondering if it doesn’t impact me / my family too much.

    As with everything, there are two sides to every coin.

    let the downvotes consume me

  3. As I suspected living alone is mainly more expensive because of scale disadvantages.

    Which seems extremely fair. Living alone, while nice, should be more expensive.

    When I was single I would always live with 3-4 other people in a large house. The financial benefit was huge. When I started living with a partner, my finances became more strained. Was that unfair? Of course not.
