It’s cheap but completely dysfunctional and overcrowded. There is no point in trying to solve a supply side issue with a demand side solution.
People were already pushing public transport to it’s limit. Instead of reducing prices and subsidising the difference, that money should have been first invested into improving the system. You can’t sell your car when the train that you are supposed to take to work is delayed 60% of the time and canceled all together once a week.
Didn’t they set the old standard too?
I wish they would just simplify it. As far as I jnderstand the Deutschlandticket still has regional differences and doesnt include the high speed trains.
Dont get me wrong. Its a move in the right direction, but it feels like a partial success.
I hope not.
Not looking for 60% of trains being on time to be standard.
No they dont
I’m a student in Germany and already have to pay 400€ per year to use all the public regional transport in my state. All this new ‘fantastic’ ticket does for me is devalue what I already pay for, because the trains will be utterly overcrowded and delayed. It was horrible last year and we were never compensated for that. For some people this is a really bad thing.
49€ to get on a slow train that it will be surely be delayed. You will lose a change for sure and it will take even more to get on your destination. Nice standard lol. Train infrastructure sucks big time in Germany. UBahn is good tho.
