Bit of an agenda-driven headline, given the stats are almost identical.
This is the issue with YouGov – in principle doing good work, but because their studies are often funded by special interest groups they seem to be errrr… looking for a specific answer.
“Trust the police” is such a vague term. What does it even mean – trust them to do what? I trust them to cordon off the road after a crash. I trust them to give me a crime number for the insurance if I’ve been robbed, and in a thousand other ways. Do I trust them implicitly in all circumstances? Obviously not.
I trust them but then I don’t go out raping, stabbing or peddling drugs

no one should trust the police, just get your crime number off them and then go back to steering well clear
