Says a lot that no one in the area earns enough to get a mortgage that size. I’m from N Wales and the jobs and wages in general are terrible. Not many careers, just jobs and loads of them seasonal or part time. Shame they couldn’t make him reduce the price haha
wouldnt be a problem if the local council tax empty second homes at .3 their value per day they are empty, using that tax to support the local community.
Slightly less “gammony” article that isn’t from the Daily Mail – [Zip World boss can sell £350,000 Snowdonia house on open market after planning row](https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/zip-world-boss-can-sell-26709790)
As much as I detest zip world and am sympathetic to locals being unable to afford homes, I have to agree with the decision. Being ‘forced’ to sell to a local strikes me as somewhat sinister and unfair. It reminds me of the petty nationalism I’ve seen in 3rd world countries.
Wouldn’t be a problem if we built enough housing, but councils are more interested in keeping empty space empty and catering to NIMBYs than putting roofs over people’s heads.
The right decision. No one should have the right to dictate to whom someone can sell privately owned property. I understand the reasons, but if the council were hat worried, they should have purchased themselves.
