On this day in 2004 – Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia join the European Union, the largest expansion of the EU.

6. In hindsight – while I am happy we made it – it was not a wise move to expand before re-thinking the decision making method, eliminating veto and coming up with a solution to rogue states. That ship has sailed..

7. Why is it that every time someone posts an image like this half the top comments are about how great it was if we were never admitted?

8. I don’t know why Andorra such a rich country does not join EU, maybe Andorran people enjoy a lot from being tax haven of Spanish wealthy residents.
