  1. Next to Heineken? And today is a public holiday so extra traffic on r/belgium…oh we’re gonna have a field day with this post.

  2. In every bar in Belgium customers are drinking a wide variety of nice beers. Every once in a while they go to the toilet to empty their bladders, the byproduct of this process is collected, filtered, pasteurized and exported as Stella Artois beer.

  3. Fun fact: in the UK Stella Artois is called a wife beater. Because compared to British beers, Stella is quite heavy in alcohol leading to a lot of domestic… erm… situations.

  4. Not sure about the strict supervision, no other Stella is like the Belgian Stella, which despite still being the best Stella, it’s mostly piss compared to real Belgian beer.

  5. Even though I don’t drink it here, when abroad there is often not a lot better.

That said, Bohemia Clara that they sell in Mexico is awesome.

  6. Very weird for me, an American from the heart of Harris Teeter country who married a Belgian and now lives in Ghent, to see the inside of HT on r/belgium

Edited to add: is this the Harris Teeter on Lawndale Ave. in Greensboro? Sure looks like it from the orientation of the beer aisle to the Starbucks counter

  7. Fitting to put it next to Heineken, which makes products under strict supervision in Putin’s Russia.

  8. stella is one of the worst belgian beers imho. even cara pils is just better. but if you’re not drinking the trappists and other big leagues or sampling the wonderful arrays of tastes lambic offers what are you even doing here
