  1. Says it’s not clear if they actually did or just said they did

Wonder is it a case of shouting “bomb” in an airport

  2. GSOC investigator resigns over Hutch party claims https://www.rte.ie/news/ireland/2023/0421/1378435-gsoc/

‘’Garda’s National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Garda Anti Corruption Unit are currently investigation suspected leaks of confidential garda information to members of the Hutch organised crime group.’’

I have very little faith in the guards in dealing with crime, too many stories of corruption amongst them or being incompetent or not arsed to deal with incidents

  3. Ireland is too small for genuinely independent investigation of organised crime. In the past high ranking officers have been drafted in from abroad that needs to be the defacto approach.

  4. Another link between the garda and the hutch family id say were due a nice tribunal soon, he investigated the garda who shot himself in ballymun but i dont know if it was a investigqtion of the shooting or of misconduct while the garda was alive.

  5. Organised crime syndicate: we have a guy on the inside:

Guy on the inside: Heeeeelllllloooo murderfurrrkers! We is so cooler than cucumbers, I tapped the shiiiiite out of the pulse system and guess what? We ain’t getting investigated BOOM!

Organised crime syndicate: you used a burner?

    Guy on inside: huh?

  6. Absolutely mad story. I read this curious sentence on the Independent:

‘It is not clear whether the GSOC investigator actually attended a party or just said he had attend a party which was also attended by Mr Hutch.’

So possibly just talking shite at lunch time?

  7. I listened to a podcast with a former undercover officer in the UK a while back and was amazed at just how easy it was to infiltrate the police. No doubt it’s happening here too. There needs to be more intense background checks and monitoring of Garda staff.

  8. With the high cost of living and the poor Garda wages and morale it’s going to be easier for crime gangs to get Gardai on their payroll.

You don’t even need to do that. A few civilian staff with access to pulse is also easier to setup.

  9. Seemingly this lad also investigated the lead detective in the regency shooting case.

Could turn out to be the first public/ social media era case of proper Garda corruption? I know it’s happened but I’d imagine this won’t be allowed go on the QT
