Hello braliūkai!

Lithuanian here.

Some of you have probably heard of Aurimas Valujavičius and his, I would say, extreme ways of traveling. (He is a lithuanian guy who rowed through the Atlantic!)

I got inspired by him a year ago and I set a goal of walking 10 000km a year. Unfortunately due to having to work I didnt reach the goal in the set amount of time. But I have walked around 9 400km a year.

Also I managed to travel from holland to belgium and to germany just on my feet.

Hopefully this post for you guys is somewhat interesting. I am leaving a garmin app screenshot and a picture of germany – holland border 🙂

Thank you for reading!

  1. I work every day and walk the normal approx. 7 to 8 thousand steps a day… couldn’t imagine how fit you’d have to be to walk 34 thousand. Good luck on your journey, I’ll be rooting for you from my couch.

  2. Great result! My car mileage per year is pretty much the same.

What are the positive, what are the negative side effects of such lifestyle? Did you have to change anything to keep on walking? How did you adapt to rainy days, what unexpected discoveries you made?

  3. Hey braliuka! I’ve got 2 questions:

1.What shoes do you wear the most when walking far distances?

2.What are some of the benefits of walking for you besides just physical fitness? How it impacts your mental state?
