One week to go until UK Emergency Alerts test

  1. Lots of people seem to be making a big deal out of it. Turn it off in your settings or don’t and get the alert, it’s completely optional and no reason to freak out about it.

I turned it off personally as frankly I don’t need it on, if old Putin is going to nuke London not much I can do and would rather not know before being vaporised, if I don’t then im pretty sure I would notice. Fairly soon after.

Plus I can see this being used for other things, like missing kids, amber warnings etc, I don’t want my phone going off all the time for that shit as I really don’t care.

  2. Already turned this crap off. Some might say they like us all to live in fear……..wonder why that could be.

  3. Whys everyone pumping this up like its some nuclear warhead about to go off in your pocket, its all I see everywhere, I get people needing to know but making people nervous doesn’t help. I’m epileptic, some people have seizures from anxiety (me) I don’t wanna fall and crack my skull in front of a family of 4.

  4. This is the most exciting countdown since Y2K.

It’s a shame they’ve had to go all out on the advertising and media alerts; you’d think there’d be some easy way of alerting everyone in the country with a mobile phone by now.

  5. The hysterical response to this on this sub is hilarious.

All these edgelords turning off emergency alerts and then proudly telling us.

  6. Turned that off weeks ago. I just know it would’ve gone off when I’m trying to get my kid down for a nap.

I receive enough BREAKING NEWS red tape from the news outlets to keep me in fear, don’t need a further noise notification every time the shit hits the fan.

  7. You can search emergency alerts in your settings and turn it off if you want to.

I turned it off as I’d rather be blissfully unaware if vlad sends a nuke our way.

  8. I’m only following articles about the emergency test because of the amount of crazy people saying its infringing on our rites or has something to do with 5g. It makes me laugh how deluded some people are.

  9. I’m looking forward to all the scout groups up and down the country having their St George’s Day celebrations this Sunday.

Not looking forward to being on the road.

I’ll be doing archery. That could be interesting.
