Idk if you made this map but I’m tired of constantly reminding people to write Kyiv and not Kiev. And just to add, Kyiv has always been Kyiv. The Russiphication of history and its acceptance by the West is a recent development from the time of Peter.
Also for what it’s worth, the Slavs of Kyivin Rus spoke a language which would sound more like modern Ukrainian (and Belarusian) than Russian. Russian was lobotomized by Peter and later by the Soviets.

I wonder how they got those numbers. Modern estimates? Or actual censuses? Were slaves counted? Women? Children? I mean, who were counted as residents? Are the numbers comparable?
