I started making these handmade Ash Hurley Clocks. What do people think?

  1. That’s a really cool idea, just out of curiosity are you making them for sale? And roughly how much were you thinking of charging

  2. They’re good man, well done. As others have said, you might be better off rotating the clock face 90 degrees so the “galway” (for example) is read the correct way if mounted on a wall or sitting on a mantlepiece. But that’s a very simple change, fair play

  3. Being brutally honest here: I’ve seen them done and seen them done much better.

People have already commented on the positioning of the clock face.

The clock itself looks dated and cheap. I’d use more decorative minute and hour hands, and have roman numerals / numbers on the bás of the hurl, rather than shoving an encased clock onto it

The celtic design is too bold, scale it back a bit.

It’s all a bit “junior cert woodwork project “

  4. As others have mentioned, doing something as simple as carving a hole for the clock to fit in so that it’s flush with the hurl would go a long way in making it look more “premium”.
