Mmm because that went down really well across the border didn’t it?
How about no?
How about no?
stupid mofos
They can do one. Most of my friends here are burnt out already, back living with their parents in their 30s.
People are already working two jobs, going to food banks etc. People are tired and overworked enough as it is. They’ve got enough money up the hierarchy, it’d be nice of them to reward their employees a bit more.
Problem with childcare isn’t so much that it’s not accessible, it’s simply not affordable. It represents a quarter of a wage for some people. As for the shortage in skills ? Of course people are taking the little money they have left to go live somewhere nicer, warmer, and more affordable.
Edit : typo, added the bit about childcare
Better childcare, better mental healthcare and appreciation of apprenticeships I’m ok with but these two ideas ? Hell nah
Maybe we should employ some french protesters
I’m not sure humans can work decently past 65. All that’ll do is get a lot of 66-70 years old without jobs.
And the people who can and want to work past 65 are already doing it just to make ends meet.
Hell, I’m not expecting to be retired at all later down the road.
Shortage of skilled workers. LMAO. Pay people what they are worth, then there suddenly wont be any shortage anymore. This is just hillarious.
Yeah fuck no we already work our asses off with 42h a week
I’m studyingy German to live in Switzerland in the near future, but working 42h a week it’s already kinda sus for me, if they increase it further it will be a big no and i will give up from living there 100%
Fuck you, swiss employers’ association
Fuck the Swiss Employers Association how about that?
>First, the SAV called for people to work more hours than they currently do. This would be achieved by encouraging the companies they represent to “remove the false incentives” that make part-time work contracts more beneficial and by lobbying against any referendums that call for a shorter working week.
So no time for your children, OK…
>The organisation noted that for parents who both want to return to work, “There is a complete lack of an offer [of childcare] in many places, and on the other hand, the existing places are too expensive.” They called on the government to promote childcare facilities, making sure that “every state franc that subsidises childcare must flow into additional work or training and further education, and not into more free time.”
Now that make sens with their previous point, they want both parents to work at ~~100%~~ 120% and fully using childcare facilities.
While I agree with the subsided childcare, I think that “forcing” parents to put theirs children in childcare facilities for the whole week lack balance.
People aren’t making children to NOT taking care of them.
Later retirement age may help the AHV a little, but you’ll have a lot more > 60ies on disability pension, so there’s nothing to gain overall IMO.
Weekly hours down to 35 and pension age to 70? Sure, we can talk about that.
Work more, when we are as efficient in production as never before in human history?
one of the dumbest, most idiotic associations in Switzerland
Perhaps the SEA want to turn Switzerland back into a country where the working populous emigrate out instead of coming in?
The current global problems are not solved by expanding the economy even more with longer work hours and older retirement age.
It is to downscale the economic growth to a sustainable level. With all the advantages of technology and improvements to efficiency, increasing working hours to sustain the economic boost is an outdated step in the wrong direction.
Rich people are more protected in Switzerland. Instead of more taxes to pay by the rich for earlier retirement, (older) Swiss people will voluntarily protect the rich, work longer and be obedient.
I find it so funny how they think they are in a power position when they have lack of workers. Nonono that’s not how this works. If there are too few of us and you want us, we should dictate how that’s gonna look. It was the other way round long enough.
I love what I’m doing and I work more than most people (and more than I’m paid for), and I’ll most likely keep working past the retirement age. I’m probably their ideal little worker. My response to such demands? It’s time to normalise a 4-day week. We just increased the retirement age (for women) and they want another increase already? Get fucked, Swiss Employers’ Association.
How about NO?
Especially nowadays when more and more studies demonstrate that working less hours actually often means MORE productivity (see 4 day week trials, the companies that tried it actually saw an increase in revenue)
It constantly amazes me that people are willing to sell their souls to work for horrendous organizations like the Swiss Employers Association/Confederation
The problem here is the always greedy search for economical growth rather than economical stability and fairness.
If there was a real worker shortage, wages should be increasing. They are not. Due to inflation, wages have gone down recently. They are just whining.
Let’s make unattractive jobs even more unattractive. This will surely solve the problem.
This will only affect the people with shitty jobs already. Perfect to fuck people already in unfortunate situations.
No. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
Is that for executives or people that do actual work?
