  1. Price gouging? There is some evidence from profits that certain companies are using the COLC to line the pockets of shareholders. Probably the same companies that welcomed government assistance during the pandemic.

  2. Wow protein porridge which has rocketed in popularity recently is now more expensive due to gouging, sorry “inflation”.

As are the things almost everyone buys almost all the time.

    Imagine that

  3. If that inflation level is real, then why aren’t the Tories making more trade deals with other Third World Nations..

  4. Unrelated, but also interesting, cheese is one of the most commonly shop lifted goods along with washing powder.

    It’s so easy to shift.

  5. All Labour’s fault apparently. Tories have only been in charge for 13 years and most of the time since the 1950s. How could it be them?!

  6. I always shopped at Aldi because it was significantly cheaper than most other places.

The other day I spent near enough £40 for a week’s worth of shopping. 12-18 months ago the same shop would have been at least £15 cheaper.

This isn’t sustainable. I haven’t had a pay rise in 4 years. My rent has gone up, bills have gone up.

What are people supposed to do? Or is it the government’s plan to starve people?

  7. Wild. You guys have price gouging and greed in your supermarkets too?

You don’t even have that sweater vest wearing wanker Galen Weston.

  8. FINALLY. I’ve been using the CPI (Cheese Price Index) for about two years now. IT DOESN’T STOP CLIMBING. I JUST WANT SOME CHEESE ON TOAST RISHI

  9. I literally stopped eating cheese because of this.

It’s amazing how expensive my shitty cheese now has become. I rather go without it than pay triple the price I was paying last year.

We are talking about Edam!!! Not even a fancy one!

  10. When is the government or some other body going to start looking at the blatant profiteering in the retail sector. Yes energy and fuel prices have increased over the last year but you are not going to tell me that these increases justify the massive jump in food prices that we have all experienced. Even the CEO of Tesco said recently on television that profiteering is going on. Funny that, as Tesco are one of the worst culprits
