2. Ja ze hadden beter de kerncentrales opengehouden én geïnvesteerd in dit onderzoek. Dit is ook maar een schaamlapje. Alsof we de komende 10 jaar een nieuwe kleine kernreactor gaan nemen. Op lange termijn is het goed maar onze energieproblemen zijn accuut.

3. Read the news this morning, and it is quite light on information. I’ve tried to find details about these small reactors they want to build (how many to power Belgium for example, what do they cost, how long to build, how much waste do they produce and how is it managed?) but all I found was pro-nuclear propaganda from the industry itself. Oh, and one slightly reassuring thing, apparently these plants only need a safety radius of 300m and are built partially underground ‘to prevent terrorist incidents’ well thank god for that then.

   Seriously, mankind put a human on the moon, according to some, yet we still haven’t found a better solution to our shitty fossil burning practices than something quite poisonous that relies on careful attention to safety. I’m so glad I won’t have grandkids.
