  1. May 1973,Kubrick and crew arrive in Dublin Airport to begin Scouting locations for the Cinematic Masterpiece “Barry Lyndon”. A film shot in lreland, the UK and Germany but with several scenes filmed in Powerscourt House, sadly this beautiful Stately home burnt down in 1974 so the film captured rare footage of its interiors. I would love to talk on here to anyone who was in anyway involved with its production as l am a Kubrick nut and Barry Lyndon for me is the greatest film ever made. Do refer to Wikipedia/ Barry Lyndon for a fascinating history of this incredible production.

  2. Excellent drawings, OP. I only found out today that Murray Melvin (who played Reverend Runt) passed away a couple of weeks ago. The film is nothing short of a masterpiece.

  3. If I remember correctly, he used as much natural light as possible when filming, also many shots are set up to appear like paintings from that period. Great film.

  4. I am not a film buff or a particular Kubrick fan and I ran across Barry Lyndon by chance a couple of years ago. I just kept thinking Wtf am I watching? What is happening?? Such crazy plotlines and such weird characters! But it was very beautiful. I tried to get other people I know to watch it so I could have someone to chat with about it but no joy. For a while after I kept wondering if I had dreamt some of it. Thanks for reminding me this film exists lol.
