I know Humza was branded as a continuity candidate but he’s gonna have to straddle the awkward bit of these investigations taking years but also being shown to take a hard line, even when guilt won’t be proven for a while.
His saving grace at least is its not a death knell, despite kneejerk polls I’m fairly sure the public would prefer a dead seagull to Ross or Sawar at this rate.

What’s going on? Why have such high profile SNP figures been arrested and then released so quickly?
I would have thought that if the police had enough evidence to arrest then they’d have enough for a charge to stick – or, if they didn’t have enough evidence, they would have just asked them to comply with an investigation without being arrested. I don’t get it.
And was released because only the Procurator Fiscal can charge someone.
