2023 World Press Freedom Index

  1. Press freedom is a weird way to put things. Should be divided in real press freedom and in the ability to buy the press for your usual propaganda and how cheap/expensive it is.

  2. Finland is not that free. Our state-sponsored media is very left-wing biased. They praise Marin even though she lost the elections and say the Finns are racist

  3. Propaganda. Ukraine there is just one opinion allowed in the press, or you’re arrested for being a traitor.

You can argue that it’s normal in time of war, but it’s definitely not the same freedom as in Bulgaria, Hungary or Malta.

  4. Ireland has some of the most draconian defamation laws used to help the rich and powerful avoid media scrutiny. What kind of twaddle is this ranking?

  5. Well, it’s not that Romania’s press is not free… the problem is that it’s quite shit overall. And considering the garbage you see on TV, I think people are free to say whatever bullshit they can spit.

  6. I am really curious how is Qatar above Greece? All they have is a single state owned propaganda news network?

Did we not see their gruesome tactics in just the past year [Hunted, arrested and beaten: Stomach-churning reality for LGBT+ community in Qatar](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/qatar-world-cup-lgbt-laws-28485483) during the World Cup and did they not take into account the [ blatant anti semitism and terrorism propagation funded by Qatari sheikhs? ](https://twitter.com/CandiceMalcolm/status/1394086593061916677)

Who the heck does these rankings?
