Watchdog to investigate Rishi Sunak over possible failure to declare an interest

  1. There’s usually nothing that ends up happening with these. Starmer and other high-level politicians have been done for not declaring things in the right way.

  2. Wasn’t there a big thing in the budget about increasing free child care? Weird how his wife would have coincidentally bought shares in a company that’s probably going to benefit from millions of pounds of tax payer money in the next few years.

  3. There is a pattern forming – Sunak thinks law and standards don’t apply to him or his family.

Just like he didn’t declare his wife’s share in Infosys (currently like £700m worth of) and then pushed for legislation affecting competition for that company (IR35).

Of course Con-servatives found no wrong doing.

  4. Alternate Title: Criminal continues as normal.

  5. Well this explains why express, mail, telegraph, sun and spectator have spent all weekend telling us how dodgy starmer is for his expenses bill back in 2008!

  6. Oh Rishi! Why do you think you are above the law? You have, once again, been very rude to the very people you were chosen to, not elected to, represent. Do you think we are all uneducated peasants? It’s unpleasant for us to have to accept this kind of behaviour from you & your cronies. We know that this government is milking the system for every penny it can…

  7. How is this ‘breaking news’? A multi millionaire with a multi billionaire wife gets himself into a position of significant authority and we’re only now questioning whether it was all “above board”?

Spoiler. He didn’t get to be prime minister because he was really really outstanding at politics at university.

What has this guy ever done other than grease the right palms at the right time?

  8. Do you think permanent leeches on society creaming profit off everybody’s labour on a taxless basis is ok?

    Rishi Sunak does.
