I wouldn’t hold my breath with regard to the committee if they thought it’s not in the public interest to have Sunak’s wife Infosys shares to be displayed in his register of interest.
That being said, I am still dumbfounded how they can think he can fulfil his role as a PM without having to recuse himself from conflicting areas. Maybe he shouldn’t be a PM in the first place.
Honestly the fact that we now seem to have an endless circus of inquiries as a deeply unpopular and completely unelected government seemingly does… uh… nothing for the country??… is the big deal in itself.
Like holy shit guys we are being held hostage by our own damn government this is ridiculous. The fact they can’t even be bothered to make a pretense of hiding rampant corruption and cronyism really just speaks to how safe they feel in the media environment that has dominated this last decade.
Would be easier all around if the Sunak Gov’t just called an early General Election. I doubt Rishi & many other Conservatives will be bothered hanging around after they lose.
Sunak and this government can’t go soon enough, but this feels like fuss over very little and I don’t see it being a huge deal. Even if they find against him, what’s going to happen?
I feel the reality is that between them, the Sunaks are so wealthy that they will have shared in companies across scores of sectors. The process of elimination says that any government activity is likely to affect some. Unless it can be proven that they bought in shortly ahead of the policy changes and can be accused of some form of insider trading?
Lead by example. I mean, if he and his government can do it time after time, then so can I.
I’ve investigated myself with my mates and I’m fine. So, with this set of rules in mind, the peasants can choose what to declare from now on, right? RIGHT?
