So long as it doesn’t conflict with the Vienna Convention on Road Signs & Signals and doesn’t pose any other safety risk (eg slipperiness when wet), should we care?
That must have taken some mental gymnastics by local N-VA and Open VLD since it’s their own parties on a regional level wanting this and flipping the bill for it..
Maybe use the money to help them instead of wasting it on virtue signaling. This money could be spend on project that actualy help.

Die pro-LGBTQ zebrapaden doen me altijd denken aan het feit dat in Noord-Korea elk gebouw een portret van Kim Il-Sung en Kim Jong-Il boven de ingang moet hebben. 5% is vermoedelijk beginnen meedoen met die trend het omdat ze die-hard believers waren, de overige 95% doet waarschijnlijk mee omdat enthousiasme vijnzen een kleine moeite is om niet naar de goelags gestuurd te worden. Neen, je wordt niet naar de goelags gestuurd hier als je vragen hebt bij die LGBTQ zebrapaden-rage, maar de goegemeente begint je toch al te besnuffelen op zoek naar een homofoob geurtje. De heksenjacht-functie is dus gelijk. Ook hier op Reddit zullen velen nu op mijn profiel klikken om mijn reacties te skimmen op zoek naar rechtse opvattingen. Zo bekeken gaan die zebrapaden niet over LGBTQ die moeten kunnen zijn wie ze zijn, maar over de ganse bevolking die hiermee bewijst te zijn wat ze zijn: meelopende grijze muizen.
Agree, waste of time. Those guys could have been doing something usefull. All they are doing now is making 5 social justice wariors happy. Cangrats on spending millions of euros on that 👍

Unpopular opinion perhaps: infrastructure should serve the masses and should stay as far as possible from any political statement. In this case: uniformity under zebra crossings is a good thing.
I am all for supporting the gay community. But if you want a rainbow: raise a flag, put up some signs, distribute some pamflets.
I know it hurts nobody, but it is just so frigging useless…

I am absolutely shocked.
Why do we even need shit like this? Honestly, Belgium is probably one of the most progressive countries when it comes to LGBTQ rights. Hell, we even had a gay prime minister at one point for fuck’s sake. Nobody, except for a very small minority of biggots have a problem with gay people, and they are obviously not going to be swayed by a crappy rainbow pedestrian crossing.
Eigenlijk wil ik hier is een wetenschappelijk bewijs voor, dat alles in regenboogkleuren zetten echt gaat helpen in de strijd tegen homophoben en inclusiviteit.
