Much as I dislike rich bexiteers, he did strike lucky and picked up a freshly built and fully equipped factory that was going to build the mercedes g wagon for just cents on the euro.
I cannot blame the guy or consider it hypocritical, new car company with no factory lucks out on almost the perfect premises on the cheap.
Not sure about the logic in having a 4×4 with limited range and potential issues mixing water and an electric drive system.
The old 200/300 tdi Defenders needed long range tanks fitted to get them over 500 miles in range off road and would only work in waist deep water with a snorkel and the liberal application of bath sealant – but at least you could do it.
I guess though just like Tata / Jaguar Land Rover’s new offerings, they aren’t really meant to go off road unless you count parking on the verge outside the kids gymkhana in Surry.
Shame really.
