  1. >The Russian military says the Kinzhal has a range of up to 2,000 kilometers (1,243 miles) and flies at 10 times the speed of sound, making it difficult to intercept. Russia has used the weapon to strike several targets in Ukraine.

    >Kremlin claimed that its fighter jet-launched Kinzhal missile system is “unstoppable” by current Western weapons.

  2. >unstoppable.

Yes, yes… Just like the Moskva was unsinkable, the T-90 was impervious to guided missiles, the T-14 was deployed in Syria and Ukraine, and the Russian army could take Kiev in three days.

  3. Heh… nice.

The wreckage is no doubt already on its way to Ramstein as we speak.

Russia’s wasting a phenomenal amount of critical intelligence on its top tier weapons systems, including ranges, speeds, countermeasures, etc. Having actual physical copies of the weapons will leak even more information and contribute to effective detection and destruction of them in the future.

Mind-bogglingly stupid weapons usage by Russia here.

  4. The question is, was this a fluke or did they find a weakness?

The F117 Was downed by relatively primitive weapons

  5. They were never unstoppable. It is one of those Russian disinformation campaigns that was fully swallowed by western media. They are harder to stop but not unstoppable.

  6. Ukraine does not confirm this!

Colonel Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in a comment to Suspilne

    >There was a possibility of use, but ballistic missiles were not spotted.

There are no sources in English yet, only in Ukrainian:[https://www.pravda.com.ua/news/2023/05/5/7400832/](https://www.pravda.com.ua/news/2023/05/5/7400832/)

  7. It was never unstoppable. Kinzhal is just an Iskander SRBM launched from an airplane. That’s not a bad idea, in fact it’s actually a pretty good idea with plenty of benefits, but that doesn’t make it special in any way.
