I’m a history major focusing on Latvia and Turkey. My best friend goes to a fancy art school- neither of us are, in any way, Latvian. She was struggling in December to think about what she should do for a drawing that they work on their entire second semester, and basically said hey, tell me about those Latvians you’re always obsessing over (literally visiting y’all for a few weeks in June, pls invite me to your Ligojani). And we arrived to Bearslayer.
Many facetime calls of me infodumping about the story and about Latvian culture (to the best of my ability) and history, deciding which shades of red were more Latvian than others, laughing as I tried to pronounce Latvian words and names that are, to a dumb American like myself, some of the strangest sounding things I’ve ever heard. (I love your language. I just don’t know how you make the sounds you do.)
