Omg.. I instantly remember my worst experience on fb market place.. I was selling sandals,that didn’t fit and I couldn’t return them,so decided to place for sell. One person was interested to come right away from another city to try them on. I gave measurements of insole length,so she would be sure it’s even worth to come. Upon arrival she was texting me – hey, I’m in a car and it’s hot,and my children are sweating,come faster (normally,where I come from, we address strangers on “You” or in german it’s Sie,so that seemed kind of unappropriate for me,but ok). As I have kids too,and then they were toddlers, of course it took about 5 min to come down. So,I brought the damn sandals and they didn’t fit. She hopped in and drove away. After about 10 min she started texting me,that she lost her wallet and probably I have it in the bag with sandals. I looked and there was nothing. I replied,that there’s no wallet in there. A bit later that stupid crazy bitch was ringing my door, and insisted that I have stolen her wallet. I was baffled. Wtf? Then she proceeded to threaten to call the police for searching my apartment and swearing,after I said- go ahead and try. Of course,no one came,no one call,and I’m pretty sure that lame woman found her wallet in a car or something,and didn’t even apologize. What a cunt!! I mean, it was suspicious. In my home country people did similar stuff with money scamming on fb,so I wasn’t sure if this happens again, or that twat really lost her wallet and found it later. But this was stupid.
I’ve also encountered some occasions,when selling leather leggings some dude asked for photos,but with me wearing those. He asked whether I have some used tights to sell,also with photos attached. That was weird. I just blocked him.
And after one time,when some twat tried to scam me with some stupid way of “home pick up service”, then reimbursing money or something like that,email requests where I should have sent my details,and pay 5 times more,I realised it’s a scam. After few exchanges of words and threats to me,I wrote I’m gonna go and report your profile to police, this mofo disappeared and deleted the profile. Cunt..
After the last encounter with me purchasing two seemingly new coats,which arrived DIRTY, FULL OF HAIR, CIGARETTE STENCH ,I decided not to have a fb and marketplace at all. Wrote a decent letter to that seller and photos of what she sent me,and bye. Some people are just dumb. So that’s that. And many occasions,when people ask whether the item is still available,and disappearing after answer..just nope.
But the best purchase was a briefly used kids bed ,like a little house. For a very good price. That family helped dismantle the bed and bring it to the van,and gave some coffe and cookies to my husband. Very nice people and and good experience.
