Where can I meet new people in my area? Apps, websites?

Hi! To start this off, I am a born German and have been living here my whole life. Socializing is hard for me, and I never really went out a lot. I live in a village, super small, mostly old people.Now I’m 20, about to move away soon (September) to a big city to go to school there, and I want to actually enjoy my last few months here. But in general, meeting new people in that new city might be pretty good too.So: Are there any apps or websites, forums, whatever, you can recommend? Where people can come together and post about stuff from their area? Like parties, celebrations, events?And I stay away from Dating Apps (like Tinder or Grindr), made some bad experiences there, though that’s how I met people in the past (besides school).

The reason I’m asking on here: people that moved to Germany probably have the same problem (not knowing anyone, trying to meet new people), so I figured I might as well. Plus, I have no idea if there’s any German subreddits where this question would fit. (I’m also not sure if the Flair is correct, but I figured, it IS a question. So mods, please let me know if I should change it or something!)

Edit: I tried [nebenan.de](https://nebenan.de), but it still needs 70 more people to sign up to actually work for my village. Dorf-Funk doesn’t let me register, no matter what. So. Those two are out of the picture.
