UK (GB), Omnisis poll: EU Membership Referendum

  1. If the trend continues, one wonders whether lib dems and greens will start gaining from Labour among pro-rejoin voters, and if that happens, whether Starmer will once again U-turn and support the second referendum.

  2. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll ever be back with full membership. But eventually we’ll definitely have a new deal similar to Norway or something new

Such a shame that we were stupid enough to leave but I try not to think about it too much

  3. Before anyone in Europe gets too “haha, stupid British” about this, just keep in mind:

    * This was a 52/48 vote, so it’s not like the vast majority of British people wanted this, it was a slim majority
    * The time when this happened was at maybe the low point of the EU in recent times, with the migrant crisis and the debt crisis
    * The 52/48 split was largely based on age and social deprivation. So the poorer, sicker people voted to leave and the opposite Remain
    * Since the 2016 vote there have been 7 years, but also a pandemic. Put bluntly, a lot of the Leave voters have died, which is why this kind of change is possible

Put simply, the people you are mad at, or laugh at: many of them are dead. Soon most of them will be.

  4. I would love the UK to rejoin – they’ve been fucked by propaganda and boomers with Brexit, and they’re worse off for it. I should I know, I’m a mug who moved to the UK from Europe in 2016, lol.

There is a note of arrogance though when I hear Brits say “oh, we’ll just rejoin”, or “we’ll rejoin on similar terms as Norway” — forgetting it’s very much a two-way street and thinking that whatever they feel like goes.

Still, we’re stronger together and I hope they can rejoin in some shape or form, eventually.

  5. The UK drunkenly trying to call their ex to ask them to take them back, after dumping them the night before for no apparent reason.

  6. Nah it’s impossible guys. Pack it up let’s focus on ourselves. I hate brexit but it’s a done deal. Getting back in is impossible. The British public won’t stand for a worse deal than they had because they’d have to admit brexit was a mistake 🙄 we must cooperate with Europe and become reliable allies and trade partners

  7. These are a bit pointless without showing undecideds but this is still a great result.

Starmer can’t talk about Brexit though, it makes both sides angry and he wants them associating happy thoughts with him until he’s elected.

  8. So when OECD, world bank, bank of england and other institutions said brexit will be very negative for UK, then you listen to ppl like Farage? Seems like peak unaware society.

I would be more then pleased to you rejoin tho.

  9. Brexit succeeded due to record turnout, including people who normally don’t vote. Those same people normally don’t answer these kinds of polls.

    Cap.
