I guess, this is part of the confrontation between the old forces and the new forces?
Quite concerning. One would expect to see such scenes in Russia.
Edit: why the downvotes?
>The presence of 11,500 police officers, the **largest police operation ever seen in the UK**, was not entirely reassuring
This is ridiculous, outrageous, despotic, and anti-republican.
Straight to the re-education programme for you! You’ll be shitting bunting in no time.
They’re just trying to make a huge expensive show go smoothly. Dude probably won’t even catch a charge. Like getting thrown out of the Oscars or something.
> The new anti protest law in UK allows police to sentence induviduals to 12-month in prison for protesters who block roads and a six-month prison sentence or unlimited fine for anyone who locks on to others, objects or buildings. Police will can also stop and search protesters they suspect are setting out to cause “disruption”
> The law also means that the police will be empowered to stop and search protesters “for items like padlocks, superglue and digging tools if they suspect they are setting out to cause chaos,”. Individuals found with such items and who intend on using them will also face criminal charges
People living in UK, are you really willing to let state trample over your rights?
My thoughts and support to a comrade and all his mates. Keep fighting for justice and republicanism!
good, they arrest the traitor
Good, God save the King!
I don’t get why this sub is so pro monarchist.
I hope to one day see the British able to have a say in who their head of state is.
Maybe…just maybe decide to have a day off from protesting?
I swear there’s some form of protest every fucking week, it’s beyond tiring to listen to. Sure you may not be a fan of the monarchy, but on one the biggest monarchy events of the century, how about letting people enjoy their fancy day? Same as when the nonce tried to attack the queen’s coffin, give it a rest.
Especially when you’re in a small minority as most of the U.K. is either happy with the status quo, or activity supports it.
Can you really call yourself a leading anti-monarchy group if your leader hasn’t been arrested for anti-monarchy protests?
It seems to be the bare minimum of effort I would expect of such a group.
The point of the arrests taking place before they had even unpacked their signs seems to pass a bunch of people by, this is not how a democracy should function.
Goddamn this subreddit is riddles with communists.
Sincerely a czech descendant of a fine legionnare lad who killed communists all across siberia for a living
Deserved
Imagine being unironically pro-monarchy in 2023
There you go, blaming China when the protest leaders of HK got arrested before important events like commemoration of 4th of June, while we aren’t even allowed to held a anti-monarchy protest. The west can be full of hypocrisy unfortunately.
