What an absurd and obscene ritual when most people in Europe can barely make ends meet. Being showered in gold and jewels while housing and essential needs are beyond reach to a big chunk of your countrymen.

The moment when Handel’s “Zadok the Priest” (written for the coronation of George II in 1729) started was truly etheral. Same for the Byzantine chant. Glad they didn’t scrape all of the ritual and tradition for the sake of modernity, that’s what makes it special and unique (although the new gospel piece by the Ascension Choir was also quite nice).
