‘If the housing crisis was health, the patients would all be dead’

  1. TLDR : its going to get worse not better according to the lads actually building the houses or ‘trying’ as the article explains.

  2. 5 years to build a housing development. That about tracks.

A massive bureaucracy. A massive ability of any one single-issue wonk to fuck with it. Either overloaded or understaffed public bodies that actually handle planning. Judges and solicitors getting their beaks wet with reviews and a convoluted process designed in an office to make sure those in the office can never, ever get the blame if it goes wrong.

The one thing they don’t mention is the other egg in the onions. It’s fucking impossible to get good people to actually build houses.

  3. Sure, if healthcare was housing, we’d have no housing stock either. I don’t think the government cares tbh.

  4. Meanwhile leo is sat at home pissed off that he can’t be seen at any parties until sinn fein stops blaming him for all the problems that he already said don’t exist. Sure what more can he do?

  5. Plenty of people in Ireland are literally dying because of important operations being cancelled.

Mainly younger people are affected by the housing crisis. Mainly older people and their loved ones are affected by the health care crisis.

  6. As someone else already mentioned, the government does not care. They care merely about getting re-elected and appeasing to their existing base. A

Actually trying to improve the way things work here? Not a chance.

  7. It’s not a housing crisis it’s an immigration crisis. The irish population has grown rapidly thanks solely due to immigration and the housing market has struggled to keep up due to the rapid and unnatural growth. Stop immigration and there is no housing crisis
