  1. Tl;Dr: We should appreciate something that in Poland are truly spectacular.

So, I just shared a random picture of the public transport in Poland (the bus I take to work) and it viralized in Brazil (the place where I was born but moved out long time ago).

I wrote something like “Here in Poland, it’s normal during exam time for young people to study with their laptops open inside public transport (photo of the bus I take to go to work). As no one talks on the cell phone inside the bus, it is a silence that allows for studies.”

Suddenly people started to share it because they got shocked about how incredible the bus looked like (for me it is just ordinary, but I moved out from Brazil when I was very young).

    Some comments are really curious:

“Look at it…. There are no cigarrettes or bubble gums on the floor.”

“If it were in Brazil, there would be five dudes with JBL loudspeakers.”

“Buses in Europe >>> Cars in Brazil”

“If it were in Brazil, this laptop would have a new owner.”

“It must be beautiful to live in civilization.”

“Once I tried to read a book on the bus in Manaus (Brazilian city) When I got out, I realized someone stole my cellphone.”

I made this [short translation of the most interesting comments](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/1WFsKU3gzLg).

  2. Thank you for the reminder we have it good here.

  3. It’s funny how things can change with perspective.
I remember when I was in Japan on a train with a group of Germans. We were talking like we normally do and in that very moment I realized that here WE are the loud ones on the train, just like Italians are over there at our place.

Not that it is an issue, there’s nothing like watching two Italians talk with their hands on a bus that has to break

  4. Poland is actually awesome. One of the thing that you dont really realized is how clean the streets and public facilities are. Obviously im a foreigner and i stick out like a sore thumb, but i do feel very safe whenever i walk here whether its daylight or late at night.

Tried this in some other EU countries and my awareness radar of my surrounding is much more higher than it would be in Poland, lol.

*edit: and i love how even paying the smallest thing you can just tap your phone/card. No need for cash at all. That is a super nice convenience here.

  5. Jesus….I was in Poland last week happily talking on public transport… Was I the loud one?!?

  6. Mesmo sem silêncio e com risco de assalto, tem vezes que é no ônibus que o brasileiro tem seu tempo livre pra estudar. Aqui temos o treinamento do Goku haha

  7. I love Polish public transportation. Yes, buses are not always on time. Yes, trains to Warsaw are often late.

But it is still very reliable. People use it to get to work. There are places where you couldn’t do that, you’d be late every day. Buses are clean, timetable is reliable, there are apps showing you the exact location of your bus or train, you can buy tickets online. You can charge your phone there.

And most importantly, often you don’t need to own a car. You should if you live like in the village, it’s comfortable if your workplace is at the other side of the city, it’s useful if you have kids etc… but you’re not FORCED to own a car.

  8. And yet you have activists and immigration lawyers advocating for “refugees” who are not really refugees but young men of a certain faith of “peace”. They want to make Poland the next Paris. Friggin idiots.

  9. Well, as uncommon it is, it definitely ain’t the most comfortable. Personally I wouldn’t have brought out my laptop in a fear of the driver stopping rapidly and it smashing on the ground. Or if it’s crowded/there is an unpredictable person around me.

A fear out of precaution mostly.

  10. Also Only in Poland would I feel secure enough to use my computer in public. Everywhere else in europe I would have people coming to annoying me or steal it

  11. Great reminder to appreciate what we have. Thanks for sharing!

  12. I like when non-Polish ppl discover that Poland is a civilised country. 😀 😉

  13. I recently moved to the 3city and was surprised that they have signs that literally ban you from having loud phone or even normal conversations

  14. Dont know about bus sometimes they are pretty fast and shaking, but trains are stable and is great for studying & working with laptop

  15. When I moved from the us to Poland I was SHOCKED at how clean the public transit is

For reference I once saw a guy take a shit on the floor in the middle of the nyc subway stop

  16. In Zielona Góra they implemented new solaris buses a few weeks ago. They look incredible inside. You can literally take modernized bus everywhere in and near the city. Having a car is not necessary in normal live

  17. I’m more surprised at someone still posting on Facebook

  18. People should know that it is a bus outside rush hours, also theft may happen, so I consider sitting like that with a laptop rather risky even outside the rush hours.

  19. 1k reactions and 300 comments isn’t exactly viral mate ..
    😂🤌🏼

  20. Yes the buses and trains in Poland are very clean and in time (as far as I can tell).
The most exciting thing for me is that you can buy the ticket inside of the bus with your VISA card and even have a working wifi.

  21. Once upon a time I was coding up a neural network on a bus. And it was literally at that moment that it started to work lol

  22. In Brazil you have 20 different sorts of banana 🍌 In Poland there is only one… The imported one.

  23. It’s not only Warsaw. Łódź, Wrocław and other cities have busses like that as well.
It’s sad to hear that this looks crazy to Brazilians.
Must be really difficult but also Brazil is a much bigger country and it’s more difficult to afford certain things for the government.

  24. I thought this post was going to be about someone watching a movie on their laptop at full volume.

  25. Polish people who only complain about Poland have never been abroad for any extended time and only know some idealized version of other countries off the internet. Once you have lived abroad for longer you get to appreciate Poland.
