Early years sector joins call for Ofsted changes

  1. The range in quality of provision makes me believe that early years needs inspection more than primary and secondary education.

  2. The derby nursery is being very disingenuous with the quotes.

I had a look at their ofsted report as it’s a public document.

“Some of the staff who work with babies don’t know how to support them[development]”

Staff did not realise that water play in cold weather is inappropriate and inspector had to intervene.

Babies are not given appropriate learning compared to piers, in appropriate use of fine motor skills for babies is unrealistic.

I compare this report with my child’s nursery [good overall] and I wouldn’t send my baby to this nursery.

I feel every complaint against ofsted is from failing schools/nurseries who cannot accept they must do better.
