European country names in Maltese, Europe’s only Semitic language

  1. Is no-one else going to point out Northern Ireland is pretty much ‘(get) ta fuck’, which is coincidentally the second most commonly used phrase in Ireland

When we see maps in English tho we dont see country names like ”The” Italy or ”The England” and when we see maps in Italian we dont see ”La” Scozia or ”La” Spania but we only see the name as in Italy , England , Scozia or Spania so a map in Maltese language should have only Spanja and not ”L-” Spanja.

  3. The rule in English is that if there is an adjective before the country name you use ‘the’. So we say The USA or the United Kingdom.
