A while ago I took my shoes to a Schumacher for repairs and there was a sign offering made-to-measure shoes for 150CHF! I said I was interested but he immediately took the sign down and said “oh sorry I don’t actually offer that service any more”. I guess it’s not very profitable making shoes in Switzerland at a price that low!
Anyway this got me thinking, I’m quite willing to spend money on a good pair of shoes; I only do it every 2-3 years usually, and I use those things all day every day. I have weirdly-shaped feet too, so maybe made-to-measure shoes could be a big improvement for me!
There’s an international company called Hockerty that offers made-to-measure shoes online here, but they have terrible reviews all over the internet. I also found a Swiss company called Risch who unfortunately don’t offer the kind of designs that I like.
Does anyone have any tips or recommendations for me? I live in Zürich (maybe you guessed by the fact I’m considering spending 400CHF+ on a pair of shoes… [😂](https://emojipedia.org/face-with-tears-of-joy/)) in case there are any local companies.
(Edit: Found a bunch more companies on latter pages of the Google results… I think maybe this kind of thing typically costs more like 600CHF… maybe this is a bit too extravagant! But tips/stories are welcome anyway!)

I just came from Prague. You can make nice trip with some sex, drugs and rock‘n roll and let you make the shoes. Those links are from two Schumachern I know are good. Idk if they can send the shoes to Switzerland but if not, another trip to great Prague! 🙂
John Lobb does made to measure. Ferrari of shoes basically.
In the same league (in my opinion even nicer) you have Yohei Fukuda made in Japan. One day will have a pair of these.

I’d not expect any 400 CHF MTM shoes made in Switzerland to be of a good quality. It’d be closer to 4000 CHF. 400 CHF would be a decent budget for off-the-shelf shoes, not produced in Switzerland.
You can get good ones from Austria I’ve heard (I don’t know which sorry but that’s what I’ve heard)
Mr. Dapper in Lucerne makes mare to measure shoes as far as I know. But they definitely over 1000.-
