  15. It’s entirely plausible to me. This is what the Russians have being doing for ages. They may not have anything to do with the Ditch itself but it’s entirely plausible that they would be involved in amplifying any division in society. It’s almost certain that they use sock puppet accounts and bots here to disrupt social cohesion. Typically it involves creating accounts on either side of the divide and taking if from there. This sub likes to think Wallace et al and other tankies are Russian plants when it’s clear they are just tankies. But it’s the noise their talking points raise and how that’s propagated that should be questioned. I’d wager a bet that for every pro-SF / the world is ending “housing crisis” etc type sock puppet account, there is an equally strident pro FFG type account talking about SF criminality. The only question is the scale of it and what influence it has on our politics. This whole paradigm is not new. We saw it in 2014 -2016 in the US where Russians posing as LGBQT accounts on Facebook pivoted against HRC. We saw it with Brexit. We know that the Baltic countries are subject to it. People just need to be aware it could be happening. It doesn’t mean the Ditch is making up any thing or is red through and through. But in the other thread about the Russian Embassy, one or two folk were commenting on how we need to be careful around this topic because we are viewed as aligned. Well, this is what we need to be careful about. Believe the Ditch, investigate Collins etc. But remember that our politics isn’t naturally evolving into being more partisan, more populist, more post truth- it’s getting there because it’s also getting a helping hand.
