Arsenal fan here – I hope the guy who did it gets banned from the ground. There’s no place for that sort of unsporting and dangerous behaviour.
Out of curiosity how does one get banned? Is it normal to have id verification to go to a game? (Never been to one)
Gd.
You have to ask given current affairs why it was a ukrainian player targetted. Hopefully makes his sentence worse
Idk why Arsenal fans beef him, he wanted to come to Arsenal, Chelsea bid more, and his club said ‘it’s Chelsea or staying in Ukraine’
Embarrassing on our end, not even like he’s been any good. Lifetime ban, a possible conviction, and for what… so fucking dumb
Ok so he should be arrested but being ARRESTED is a bit hardh
When you get arrested in all caps, you have to hear chants of ‘There’s only one Harry Kane!’ all the way to the knick.
I’m really glad the Daily Mail put ARRESTED in capital letters.
If they just said that the fan had been arrested, it wouldn’t have emphasised just how arrested he had been and I might have breezed past this headline without feeling the way that I’m supposed to about the news.
That’s the very least that should happen to the perpetrator.
Vile act.

🤔
Reminds me of when every Senegalese fan shone a laser in Salahs eyes during the World Cup qualifiers, and nothing happened
I mean feel free to ban him from the grounds but is shining a light on someone and not injuring them really an arrest-able offense?
Horrible stuff. Foul play aside, you can permanently blind someone with those things.
Luckily, if this is a regulated 1mW laser, it will not do any damage at this distance. But the person needs to be banned from football matches.
If it is an unregulated laser, society needs protecting from them.
Just saw the pictures – that is clearly an illegal laser. Prison time is indicated.
Shocking the sport of thugs and violence proving one against that violent thugs are present
Mudryk didn’t seem phased by it during the game, either didn’t really notice or it didn’t affect him. So didn’t have the desired effect luckily.
Surprised it went on for as long as it did tbh
Hope the *fan* is punished appropriately.
Tbf, mudryk being blind wouldnt actually have any effect on his end product.
Not condoning the actions
Arsenal fan being a dick.
… So where’s the news here?
This is a blast from the past. I remember back when laser pointers were a new thing 20 years ago or so and there was a huge panic about shining them in each others eyes and blinding people. Amazing idiots would still try and do it.
I always think they should cancel the match or disallow all the goals of the team that laser person supports (if they only target one particular side it should be pretty obvious to work out).
