Just to avoid anyone being mislead by the term “frankenchickens”, this just refers to breeds of chicken that have been selectively bred to grow particularly quickly. The sinister name is just a media invention.

Chickens live for 30 days before they are slaughtered. The level of growth they go through is equivalent to a human going from a newborn to 16 years old in the same time frame. This is what you get at supermarkets, cafes, restaurants etc., so anyone who eats chicken is guilty of contributing to the suffering of these chickens.
